Saturday Night Make Up

Saturday Night Make Up

It’s Saturday, you’ve got your hair done, you’ve got your outfit planned, all that remains is to sort out your make up and then it’s time to hit the town.

If this is the part where you come unstuck, let us guide you through a make up look that suits everyone, offers appropriate levels of glam and we’ll even suggest some products we stock that will help achieve the look.

The first step is to get your base right. Opt for something that has a long wear time. Bars and clubs can be hot and sweaty, and no one wants to carry foundation around on a night out, so choose something that lasts. Illuminare Mattifying Ultimate All Day Foundation is ideal, it’s water resistant as well as smudge and sweat proof. £21.95.

Add your favourite concealer as where required. Next add some definition to your face shape with highlighting and contouring. Daniel Sandlers Sculpt and Slim compact is ideal as it contains both a highlighter and a contouring shade. £24.50. Highlight cheekbones, down the centre of the nose, and the middle of the chin, you can also add a touch to your cupid’s bow to enhance your pout. Add your contouring product in the hollows of your cheeks, temples, along your jaw line if necessary and down the sides of your nose if you wish to make your nose appear slimmer!

Next, fill in your brows with your usual brow product but for extra oomph use a highlighting concealer under and over your brows, blending if necessary. Pencils are ideal for this job, try the Milani Brow and Eye Highlighter which comes in three variations for all skin tones. £5.95.

Moving onto the eyes now, start by lining both the upper and lower waterlines using a black pencil. Then add the black liner above and below the lashes, smudging out with a brush for a smoky effect. Try the Daniel Sandler Velvet Waterproof Eye Liner in Black. £9.25. Take your main eyeshadow colour, for the purpose of this review we’ll use Sugarpill’s Subterranean, a beautiful deep, shimmering teal. Blend over the eyelid. Take a black shadow and a crease brush, such as the Sigma E38 Diffused Crease Brush is ideal. Add the black to the outer corner and crease of the eyelid and blend out for a smoky look. Add a touch of shimmer to the inner corners of the eyes, Everyday Minerals Eye Selection in Floating Feathers is ideal.

Finish up with lashings of black mascara, and at this stage you can add false lashes if you wish.

Then we’re onto the lips which really is down to personal choice, line with your lip liner of choice, and then apply all over the lips to enhance the longevity of your lipstick as well as provide a colour underneath should your lipstick or lip gloss wear off. Milani’s Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss in Blackberry would look fantastic with the smoky eyes you created. Finish the whole look off with a spritz of Neve Cosmetics Fixing Spray which can be used to set your make up so it’ll last all night long. £7.95.
