If you’re a cosmetics lover you cannot have failed to have noticed the biggest beauty trend to have happened over the last couple of years, liquid lipsticks.
Matte lipstick has been rising in popularity for quite some time now, but liquid matte lipsticks, usually in a tube and applied with a doe foot applicator, are big business with many brands, niche, high street or otherwise are offering up their own versions. So popular is this trend that retailers are struggling to keep up with demand with colours disappearing off shelves (virtual or otherwise) as quickly as they are stocked, and here at Cocktail Cosmetics, things are no different.
Fortunately, we offer several brands so there’s always something available!
Starting with Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks £13.00. These go on opaque in one swipe, dry totally matte and come in a small range of shades. Six vibrant shades are currently available, Redrum, a cool toned red, Prom Night, brightest pink and I’m Royalty, a royal purple, and new shades Weirdo, a black, Anna Nicole, orangey red and I’m Nude, a pale nude shade. They fly off the shelves so you have to be quick off the mark, these are very popular!
Next we have Aromi beauty Matte Liquid Lipsticks £13. These are new and come in a large range of shades, we have 18 from neutral earth tones, through pinks and berries to deep plums and reds, there’s a shade for everyone. Aromi Beauty’s offerings apply glossy and dry to matte within approximately a minute of application.
Another new product at Cocktail Cosmetics is the L.A. Girl Matte Pigment Gloss (£6.50). 16 vibrant shades that offer intense colour and long wear in a velvety finish. These are affordable but with fashion forward shades such as Blackcurrant and Rebel, as well as classic pinks such as Iconic and true Reds such as Obess you’ll want them all!
Finally, and not to be confused with L.A Girl, we have two offerings from LA Splash Cosmetics. Starting with the Smitten LipTint Mousse £9.95. Waterproof, smudgeproof and comfortable these are the liquid lipsticks for the more daring among us. There are twelve shades available, including a nude, a red, a deep blackened red as well as a hot pink, there are also more unusual shades available. Bellatrix is a dark true purple, while Sirius is Blue and Nagini is green, the colours are rich and unusual. Also available from LA Splash are the Lip Coutures. These are a very similar product with the same price (£9.95) these are also waterproof with a velvety matte finish. The colour range is slightly larger, with sixteen available shades with more nude and natural offerings, as well as the deep reds, purples and even a blue.
It looks as though matte liquid lipsticks are here to stay with more brands releasing their own versions all the time, but whichever brand and shade you opt for, make sure your lips are flake free and moisturised for the most comfortable experience.
