Beauty Rules

Whether you’re a rebel or strictly abide by life’s rules, there are some beauty rules that everyone should follow to keep them looking groomed and healthy. None of them are expensive or take a lot of time, these are rules everyone ought to incorporate into their daily routines.

Rule One Wash your make up brushes. Brushes are on your skin every time you use them and as such can harbour bacteria, get into the habit of spot cleaning after every use with the Cozzette Aromatherapy Brush Cleaner and deep clean them once a month. Spot cleaning your brushes is quick and easy, spray your cleanser on a clean tissue and wipe your brush over it. Your monthly deep clean will be much easier and quicker if there’s no build up of product. By taking his simple step, you might find those pesky blemishes disappear if you’re not brushing the bacteria back onto your skin with every use!

Rule Two Thoroughly cleanse your skin morning and night. In the morning you need remove all the sweat and dead skin that accumulated overnight and at the end of the day you need to remove all traces of the day such as city grime or make up. Konjac sponges are perfect for cleansing and can be used with your favourite cleanser, but work perfectly well without the addition of a cleanser. There are various types for varying skin types but if you’re not sure which to choose, go for the Pure Original.

Rule Three Exfoliate regularly. Slough away those dead skin cells and help to renew your skin, leaving behind a fresh new skin.

Rule Four Moisturise morning and night. Pick a moisturiser that’s designed for your specific skin type, so if you’re oily, choose and oil free formula, if you’re starting to see signs of ageing, pick an anti-ageing formula and so on. All skin types need moisturising, even the oily skinned and acne prone amongst us. Dehydrated skins can produce oil if the skin isn’t kept well hydrated and this can lead to spots.

Rule Five Drink water. We all know we’re supposed to do it, but so many of us don’t. Current guidelines recommend 1.6 litres a day for women and 2 litres for men. All drinks count towards those two litres but water is absolutely the best choice for you and your skin.

Rule Six Look after your cuticles. Keep a cuticle cream or oil on your bedside table and get into the habit of using it every night to keep your hands and nails in tip top condition.
