A/W Trends

Each season we bring you a look at what the catwalks are predicting will be the biggest cosmetic trends, along with a few product suggestions to help you get the look.

Actually, for Autumn/Winter 2015, the trends are very similar to those seen for Spring/Summer with a few subtle differences. Read on to find out more!

There are three key looks looming for Autumn/Winter, but the emphasis for all of them is on a natural look. Heavy foundation was nowhere to be seen but the following looks were everywhere.

Glowing skin. Balmain, Gucci, Donna Karan and Valentino’s models all featured dewy, flawless glowing skin. To get your own glow on, try a powder designed for this purpose such as the Violet Voss HD Illuminating Powder £9.95

Bronzed skin, Moschino, Matthew Williamson and Michael Kors catwalks all included models that were bronzed to perfection. The emphasis being on a natural looking bronze. Try the Daniel Sandler Instant Tan £22.50.

Outdoors skin, Prada and Topshop Unique models again focused on a natural look, but this time the emphasis was on flushed cheeks and freckles with a sheer base. Try a sweep of Milani’s Rose Blush in American Beauty £7.95

Chanel featured heavy blusher, coordinated to match lips, particularly in shades of cherry pink and red. Try the Neve Cosmetics Blush Palette £21.95 to cover all blusher needs.

Autumn/Winter 2015 trends favour eyes while lips take a back seat.

Graphic Liner, Fendi and Oscar De La Renta models sported bold, black eye liner.

Heavy kohl, Versace and Roberto Cavalli took a softer option with lashings of black kohl worn all around the eye, and the Neve Cosmetics Pastello Eye Liner Pencil in Black £3.95, is perfect.

Earth toned eyes, Burberry and Anna Sui models wore beautiful autumnal earth toned eyes and if this is the look you’re wanting to create, the Viseart Sultry Muse Eye Shadow Palette 05 £59.95 will meet all your needs.

Green metallic, tying in with the earth tones, Versace used varying shades of green eyeshadow on their models, from olives, to teals to lime greens, all of which were metallic. Try Everyday Minerals Shimmer Eye Colour in New Leaf (£5.95) for a wearable look.

Autumn/Winter 2015 will see bright lips take a back seat while nude shades and naked lips will be everywhere.

Nude lips were done to perfection by Burberry and Diane von Furstenberg, for a matte take on this look, try Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte lip colour in Aphrodite £13.00.

Black lips, Giles went for a touch of gothic glamour with black lips. Try the OCC Lip Tar in Pagan, for a nearly black look.

Fuchsia lips, Giorgio Armani were one of the few fashion houses to showcase vibrant lipstick, and Aromi Beauty’s Pink Peonies Matte Liquid Lipstick £13.00 is a near perfect match for the shade they used.
